About Rémi Janssen

Originally from the Netherlands and now based in Houston, Texas, Rémi Janssen is an internationally recognized ballroom and Latin dance professional, coach, choreographer, organizer, and adjudicator.

With over 25 years of experience, he has represented the Netherlands at 14 international championships, including European and World Championships, earning distinctions such as:

-Undefeated Dutch Champion Professional Latin
-Semifinalist at the German Open 
-Quarterfinalist at the UK and Blackpool Dance Festival
-Achieving a World Ranking of #38  WDC Professional Latin

Rémi gained national recognition in the Netherlands through television appearances on Dancing with the Stars and Strictly Come Dancing, where he partnered with well-known celebrities and captivated millions of viewers!

His career highlights also include a performance for Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.

From 2008 to 2020, he co-owned Dansstudio Waalwijk, growing it to nearly 400 students and coaching dancers who went on to become national and international champions. He specializes in ballroom and Latin partner dancing, as well as country, swing, line dancing, disco, Caribbean, and other social dance styles, including salsa and bachata. In the United States, Rémi has coached clients of all levels — from social dancers to competitive performers — many of whom have achieved regional and national titles.

Today, Rémi provides private coaching tailored to each individual or couple, helping clients feel comfortable and confident both on and off the dance floor. His work ranges from social and wedding preparation to performance and competitive coaching.

All coaching is individually tailored and based on Rémi Janssen’s independent professional experience, rather than a fixed curriculum or syllabus used by any studio organization. His work focuses on partner movement, connection, musical timing, posture, and confidence.

As an event organizer and creative director, Rémi founded the WDC Dutch Amateur League Oosterhout — a national competition featuring live orchestral music; the children’s program Wollukse Cha Cha Bokaal (introducing over 600 children to
dance); and the theater production DSW on Stage, alongside numerous galas and themed events. 

He also co-founded the YouTube channel Groepsdansen W&L, which has reached over 100,000 viewers on YouTube.

Blending artistry, leadership, and European excellence, Rémi inspires dancers worldwide with his creativity, technical precision, and passion for the art of dance.
